Knight Errant was conceived using a heavily-rewritten game system, now known as G.O.W.

Affinities for Knight Errant

Under our system, all Player Characters get to buy a few Affinities appropriate to the game world. Here we list the Affinities applicable to the Britannic Isles.

Heroism

Ever notice that heroes seem to be playing by different rules than everybody else? They are! Special heroic characters, like knights, thegns, etc. can increase their skills and gain special powers by playing up their assigned roles. There are specific restrictions that must be obeyed to pay for these abilities.
  "Shining Armor": Maintain your gear.
  "Brand Name Promotion": It pays to advertise.
  "Famous Face": Look cool, kick ass.
  "Code of Conduct": Be good, kick ass.
  "Holy Vow": Be pious, kick ass.

Pechtish Woad and Tatoos

Yes, there is a reason those northern savages like to draw on themselves. Picts can increase their skills and gain special powers by placing animal designs on or in their skin. There are specific restrictions that must be obeyed to pay the animal spirit for its help, but the first question is how you get its attention.
  Lucky Socks: Paint well, kick ass.
  Medical Crutch: Art can save your life.
  Who's Your Daddy: Kick ass, then kick more ass.
  Revival Time: Kick ass, feel good.


 

 

G.O.W

The system we prefer using in RPGs is based (ancestrally) on the System Which Shall Not Be Named Because This Is A Public Site And No Copyright Infringement Is Desired.

We found it lacking in, most notably, a score for spirituality and awareness. And while we were at it, recalibrated everything based on this addition. The new basic Attributes, upon which Skills are based, are:
